Is there any way you can get laser treatment for facial acne scars on the NHS?
www.google.com has a great deal of information that you could use to find your answers , while yahoo answer is more likely to be better for people's opinions.. thanks.
Medical Treatment for Acne Scars?
I have just a few acne scars there, and though i can live with them, i would really like to get rid of them. Is there any medication, such as an over-the-counter product that can remove acne scars, or even a certain cream or pill that is especaily made to rid acne scars. While Cocoa butter has proven to treat scars, there are other ways that are more costly to do it - like laser treatment.
Personally, whenever I break out and the acne starts going down, I moistutrize every night and then put on a thin layer of Vasaline which conditions the skin.
Even when I had a lot of break outs, I put vasaline on - because it treats cuts and infections (a pimple is really like a skin infection, so the vasaline makes the swelling go down). Just becarefull when you go to sleep that you dont get vasaline on your pillow...If you use it enough, your skin will stay conditioned and you won't break out as much (if your skin tends to dry out, it over produces oil, so make sure you stay moisturized even while your treating breakouts.)

Is there anything I can use at home to zap away the red scars, pigmentation left by old acne? I've tried creams such as mederma, retin-a, mama lotion, acne mark fading peels and home microdermabrasion kits but nothing's really helped.
I know there are devices such as the zeno for acne. Are there any similar light-therapy device for scars that are a milder form of laser treatment, that I can use at home?

I would be very careful about using at home laser treatments. Too often the at-home lasers lack the power needed to for effective treatment of the scar. It is best to go to a practitioner who uses cold laser therapy in your area. Often these treatmentss will run you anywhere from $25 to $75 per treatment, but they are highly effective and there are clinical proven results that work. You can find someone in your area using a variety of websites. I have personally become a fan of Apollo they have a great database of research and a list of practitioners across the US.

Not much is going to really help true acne scarring other than surgery, dermabrasion or ablative laser therapy. Nothing that you do at home is going to really help that. Post-acne pigmentation is a little bit easier to deal with. First of all, each individual pigmented spot should slowly fade over time, even if you don't do anything. Wearing daily sunscreen will help. There are also over-the-counter bleaching creams like Ambi which you can use. Good luck.

Dab the mixture made by combining 1 tsp fresh coriander powder and a pinch of turmeric powder on the pimples, while going to bed in the night and wash it off when you wake up the next morning.
